Terms of service
These terms cover the use of Builtstraight by a firm and by anybody signing in to it. Last updated 8 September 2026. Builtstraight is operated by Astraeus Technology Limited, company number 15162283, registered in England and Wales, registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ.
The service.
Builtstraight lets a builder set up plots and their stages, run the programme, describe the scope, the proof photos, the certificates and the price of each stage, invite subcontractors to the stages assigned to them, hold documents and safety forms against a plot, sign stages off and share a read-only link with a client. Features described on this site as coming are not part of the service until they ship, and nothing you pay for is conditional on them.
Accounts.
You sign in with a code sent to your email address, or with a passkey. Keep access to that email address secure, because whoever holds it can sign in. Tell us at hello@builtstraight.com if you think somebody else has reached your account. You are responsible for the people in your firm you invite and for what they do in it.
The free trial.
A card is taken at sign-up and nothing is charged for 30 days. On day 31 your card is charged at the plan price you picked, plus VAT. Cancel before then and you pay nothing. If a payment fails, the console goes read only until it goes through.
Paid plans.
Paid plans are billed monthly or annually in advance, in pounds, per firm. Prices exclude VAT. The price shown on the pricing page is the price charged; there are no per-user fees and no charge for subcontractors. If we change the price of a plan you are on, we tell you at least thirty days beforehand and you can cancel before it takes effect.
Fair use.
Plots, team members and subcontractors are unlimited on every plan. Storage and uploads are for the photos, certificates and documents of the plots your firm runs. If a firm's use goes far beyond that, for example bulk hosting of files unrelated to its plots, we will contact the firm before anything changes and agree a way forward. Nothing is deleted without notice.
Cancelling.
Cancel at any time. Your plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for and is not renewed. We do not refund a part period. Cancelling does not delete anything, and you can ask us to export your data or delete it at any point.
Acceptable use.
- Do not upload anything unlawful, or anything you do not have the right to upload.
- Do not use the service to harass anybody, including a subcontractor invited to a stage.
- Do not try to reach another firm's data, probe the service for weaknesses without telling us, or work around a limit on your plan.
- Do not resell the service or pass your sign-in to somebody outside your firm.
- We can suspend an account that is doing any of the above, and we will tell you why.
Your data stays yours.
Your firm owns everything it puts into Builtstraight. We do not claim any right over it beyond what is needed to run the service for you, and we do not use it to train anything. A subcontractor can keep a copy of the evidence for stages they worked on. Ask us and we will export your data or delete it within thirty days.
How we handle personal data for you.
Your firm is the controller of the personal data it puts into Builtstraight and we are the processor. We process it only on your firm's instructions and only to provide the service. We keep it confidential, we apply the security measures set out on the security page, and we help you answer any request from a person asking what you hold about them. When the account closes we return the data or delete it, whichever you ask for. If your firm needs a signed data-processing agreement, email privacy@builtstraight.com and we will send one.
Availability.
We aim to keep the service running and we watch it, but Builtstraight is early and we do not offer an uptime guarantee or service credits yet. When we take it down deliberately we will tell you first. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to be without.
Liability.
Builtstraight records evidence. It does not inspect work, approve work or take on any duty for the quality or safety of what a trade builds; those stay with you and your subcontractors. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud. Otherwise our total liability to you is limited to the fees you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for lost profit or lost business.
Governing law.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
Changes to these terms.
If these terms change we update the date at the top and email account holders. If a change materially affects you, you can cancel before it takes effect.
